The University of Dundee, a campus university offering cadaveric dissection, follows a selection process that considers academic performance and UCAT scores. The weighting for these components is:
The personal statement is only used during the interview stage and is not part of the selection process for interviews. SJT scores are not considered.
The personal statement is checked during the initial application process to ensure it is tailored to Medicine. However, it is not scored when selecting candidates for interview. Applicants invited for interview may have their personal statement discussed during the interview.
The Dundee interview consists of two main parts:
A-Level resits are usually not considered, unless there are mitigating circumstances.
FAQs
UCAT scores are used as part of the interview selection process, with no minimum UCAT cutoff. However, applicants with SJT Band 4 are rejected, and lower UCAT scores are considered for interviews depending on the year’s application pool.
The Dundee interview includes a 30-minute group discussion followed by a structured assessor discussion, where your responses to a given scenario will be assessed.
The personal statement is not scored but is reviewed to ensure it is tailored to medicine. It may be discussed at the interview stage.
You need AAA predicted at A-Level, including Chemistry and another science. At GCSE, you need Biology, English Language, and Maths at Grade 6 (B), and Grade 7 in Biology and Chemistry.
