The personal statement is used in the shortlisting process for interviews. It will be assessed using Keele's person specification for a medical student and scored from 0-15. The university looks for the following essential characteristics, which can be found on their website.
The Keele interview is conducted online and consists of two 15-minute interviews, scheduled two hours apart. The interview will assess:
UCAT scores are used to rank applicants for interview. The total UCAT score and SJT are part of the scoring system. A Band 4 SJT will result in automatic rejection.
Keele uses two 15-minute online interviews, where you’ll be assessed on various medical-related topics, including ethical issues, roles of doctors, and teamwork.
The personal statement is assessed as part of the shortlisting process and is scored from 0-15. It may also be discussed during the interview if necessary.
You need A*AA at A-Level, including Biology or Chemistry, and a third subject. For GCSEs, you need Grade 7 (A) in 5 subjects, including English Language and Maths at Grade 6/B.
A-Level resits are not accepted unless you achieved BBB or higher at the first sitting. GCSE resits are accepted to meet the entry requirements.
